The Welcome Packet

Once your session is on the calendar, I will email you a welcome packet with important information. A lot of this information can be found in the FAQ section of the website. Please review the information carefully.

Let's Talk

After reading your welcome packet, call for your consultation. This meeting can be done over the phone or at my studio. During the consultation, I like to discuss what you are expecting from the shoot, what kind of shots you are looking for, if a studio or location shoot is better for you, and what kind of products you are interested in.

One of the most important parts of this consultation is deciding what you will be doing with your photos. Walking into a viewing appointment with no idea where you will hang your prints and what sizes you need for your space is like walking into a furniture store without knowing if you want a couch or an end table. Talking through your options before I shoot will help me capture the look you want. Knowing what you want in your home will also make the ordering process easy and enjoyable.

Next, comes your shoot.

All shoots are different. To get a better idea of what to expect, please read the FAQ section of the website. Sitting fees must be paid at the time of your shoot.

Your Viewing Session and Online Galleries

Once your shoot is complete, I will choose between 40 and 80 photos for you to view. Your viewing session will be 1-2 weeks after the initial shoot. Online galleries will not be live until after your viewing session. You are not required to order at the viewing session, but it is highly recommended. I offer great incentives for ordering during this appointment, so it is to your advantage to place at least part of your order at this time.

Galleries are online for 4 weeks. There is a $20 fee for reposting galleries after they have expired. All orders of $500 or more receive proof sheets of the photos free of charge. If you would like to purchase proof sheets, please contact me for pricing.

The photos in your viewing session and your online gallery are not fully retouched. Some photographers fully retouch all their proofs before showing them to clients. Why am I different? First, retouching takes time. I would rather show you the photos soon after the shoot rather than make you wait 4-5 weeks. Second, it is helpful for clients to view unretouched photos so that we can discuss what retouching you want. Lastly, I would rather spend a lot of time getting the photos you order perfect than spend a little time retouching everything you will be viewing.

Once an order is placed, it takes 4-6 weeks to complete it. If an order needs to be rushed, please discuss this with me when you place the order.
